Bonjour et bienvenue!!! hello and welcome!!!My name is Mme.Ray and I am your child's French teacher. The program to be presented will be both useful and stimulating to ensure progress and interest in learning a second language.
French Is One Of Canada’s Two Official Languages And Is Used In Many Countries Around The World. The Ability To Communicate In French Is A Valuable Skill. Studies Have Shown That Knowledge Of A Second Language Strengthens First-Language Skills, And That The Ability To Speak Two Or More Languages Generally Enhances Problem-Solving, Reasoning Skills, The Capacity For Creative Thinking, And The Ability To Respect And Understand Other Cultures. Research Proves That Students Perform Better In School If Their Parents Are Involved In Their Education. Although You May Not Speak Or Understand French, You Still Have An Important Role To Play In Supporting Your Child’s Learning. Your Positive Attitude, Encouragement, Interest And Support Towards French Will Help Your Child To Succeed. You Can Offer To Listen To Their New Vocabulary And View Their Written Assignments.
Your Child Needs To Try Their Best And Take Responsibility For Their Learning. There Is A Direct Relationship Between Achievement And Hard Work. I Guarantee If Your Child Puts Forth The Necessary Effort And Applies Him/Herself, Seeks Help When Necessary, They Will Have A Successful Year. Daily Participation, Listening And Reading Comprehension Activities, Oral Presentations, And Writing Activities Including Tests Will Be The Major Components Used To Assess Your Child’s Progress In The French Program. I Am Responsible For 3 Marks On The Provincial Report Card For French As A Second Language. Each Child Will Be Assessed In All Three Areas Each Term: Oral Communication, Reading, And Writing.
